Mr. Earlston McPhee boasts an illustrious career spanning over three decades as a prominent figure in Caribbean tourism economic development, with a particular focus on the Bahamas. During his tenure at the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, he played pivotal roles in advancing sustainable tourism, assessing economic impacts, and spearheading investment programs.

Noteworthy achievements in Mr. McPhee’s career include the development of the Bahamas’ first tourism econometric model, used to gauge the tourism sector’s influence on the Bahamian economy. He also chaired the UNWTO Committee on Tourism and Sustainability, exemplifying his dedication to sustainable tourism practices.

As a leader in Caribbean tourism, he chaired the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s Technical Committee on Sustainable Tourism and represented the Bahamas while chairing the Association of Caribbean States Committee on Sustainable Tourism. His role as an advisor on the Global Partnership for Sustainable Tourism highlights his influence on international sustainable tourism policies.

 

Mr. McPhee’s academic journey features a Master’s Degree in Economics from West Virginia University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Finance from Oklahoma State University. His academic accolades include recognition in the “Who’s Who in American College”, Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow and membership in the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society.
 
Throughout his career, he participated in extensive training programs at esteemed international institutions, such as Harvard University, Oxford University, Indian Institute of Management, and the Administrative Staff College of India, showcasing his commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
 
Mr. McPhee’s contributions extend to hosting conferences and presentations at international events, where he shared his expertise in tourism development and sustainability. His outstanding achievements in sustainable tourism and climate change adaptation earned him a prominent place in the industry.
 
Currently, as the Managing Director of Let’s Go Travel Company, Mr. McPhee serves as a travel advisor, organizing tours to exotic destinations. His wealth of experience, dedication to sustainability, and extensive contributions to the Caribbean tourism industry solidify his status as one of the region’s foremost experts in tourism economic development and sustainability.
