As a leader in Caribbean tourism, he chaired the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s Technical Committee on Sustainable Tourism and represented the Bahamas while chairing the Association of Caribbean States Committee on Sustainable Tourism. His role as an advisor on the Global Partnership for Sustainable Tourism highlights his influence on international sustainable tourism policies.
Mr. McPhee’s academic journey features a Master’s Degree in Economics from West Virginia University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Finance from Oklahoma State University. His academic accolades include recognition in the “Who’s Who in American College”, Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow and membership in the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society.
Throughout his career, he participated in extensive training programs at esteemed international institutions, such as Harvard University, Oxford University, Indian Institute of Management, and the Administrative Staff College of India, showcasing his commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
Mr. McPhee’s contributions extend to hosting conferences and presentations at international events, where he shared his expertise in tourism development and sustainability. His outstanding achievements in sustainable tourism and climate change adaptation earned him a prominent place in the industry.
Currently, as the Managing Director of Let’s Go Travel Company, Mr. McPhee serves as a travel advisor, organizing tours to exotic destinations. His wealth of experience, dedication to sustainability, and extensive contributions to the Caribbean tourism industry solidify his status as one of the region’s foremost experts in tourism economic development and sustainability.
As a community minded individual, Steve’s vision of helping to develop and promote his hometown Pelican Point, he was inspired to construct Sandy Beach Vacation Villas, a thriving resort that caters to visitors and locals.
He is married to Enid Laing and is the proud father of Stephon and Arzah and Papa to Serayah and Amiyah Laing.
Ife is currently the Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Sears & Co, a 32-year-old boutique law firm with a general civil law practice specializing in commercial litigation and corporate practice. Ife is the senior-most non-legal member on the team coordinating all phases of administration, personnel, finances, facilities, technology, and security. Ife also oversees the daily operations of the Seabet Ltd. commercial property which includes managing and renting spaces to tenants in downtown Nassau, The Bahamas.
In 2022, Ife completed The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania’s Economics of Blockchain and Digital Assets certificate program. In 2020, Ife completed Harvard University’s Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies certificate program. Ife holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Ife received the International Baccalaureate diploma from The United World College of Southern Africa in Eswatini. Ife received The Bahamas General Certificate of Secondary Education and high school diploma from St. Augustine’s College in Nassau, The Bahamas.
Ife was named a Young Professional Under 30 Paving The Way in 2014 by The Bahamas Investor Magazine. Ife received the Cum Laude Latin Honor from Georgetown University in 2013. Ife was crowned Miss Bahamas Earth in 2009. Ife received The Bahamas National Student Leader award and was honored as a Global Youth Leader at the Youth Leaders’ Global European Conference held in Austria, Czech Republic and Hungary in 2006.
Mr Myers has served as the Chairman of the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers Confederation, Bahamian Contractors Association, Bahamas Landscape Association, The Coalition for Responsible Taxation and presides as the Chairman of the Organization for Responsible Governance a nonprofit foundation focused on education, government accountability and economic development.
Mr. Myers is currently a Board member of the Tourism Development Corporation and sat on the Ministry of Education’s National Advisory Counsel for Education. Mr Myers continues to look to expand his business interests through the identification and partnership with dynamic people who share his common business philosophies and culture. Having come from a humble beginning, Mr. Myers knows and understands the value of hard work, determination and responsible leadership. It is his faith in these traits that drives his philanthropic work that focuses on the improvement of governance, education and opportunity for all citizens of the Bahamas.
